    Introductions

The two of you were taken from your world and brought here by an unknown force. You don't have any memory of what may have happened prior to this occurence and you have no idea what "here" is. It is a place with the ground cracked and dirtied. It seems like a scene on a very scarred part of earth. There are no buildings, but there are several structures that are broken down that seem like they were once buildings made of wood and stone. There are a few people there, they all seem small and weak and they don't seem to have noticed your arrival. The sky above doesn't have a sun yet the lighting of the setting before you makes it seem like there is.

The smell of blood and battle fill the air, and the area looks like it was recently the setting for some sort of war. There are no dead bodies around though. You find yourselves laying on the ground next to each other, just waking up from unconciousness. The sounds of your Zanpakutou deaf to your ears at the moment and your reiatsu as well as your ability to sense it completely gone.

< Basically you introduce yourself to your partner and/or simply talk about your current predicament if you wish. After 4 posts I'll drop a few NPC's your way so the fighting can go underway. For now, Zanpakutou techniques will be disabled (including Bankai and Shikai) and Kido or any other techniques that require reiatsu are also disabled. Don't worry though, this will be enabled later during the story. >

Alice's eyes fluttered open. Unlike most people, it was common for her to wake up in an unknown location. Flat on her back in another strange place, this one holding the aroma in the air of blood, something quite familiar to our maiden.

Sliding her hands down along the dirt to her waist, she lifted herself into a sitting up position, after which she became alerted another person was present. She jumped slightly in alarm, for her senses should have foretold another being was present. In fact, after he jump scare she noted her reflexes were impaired as well.

Her Zanpakuto was silent and powerless, but thankfully, even in this state Alice could cleave an enemy quite swiftly. Infliction, however would not be necessary. She noted the gentlemen still knocked out beside her as one seen in the SS.

On behalf of the situation, she held no ill regard for her fellow lost being. Though in a battle Alice would seek solitude, if it was a fight they had been brought forth to take place in, it was a fight the foe would get. Rising to her feet and dusting herself off, she peered down at the man.

Rise, or we will be terribly late! Someone has decided to make an appointment with us, you know. She said quite calmly, which was followed by her cracking her neck.

Waka awoke to the summoning. It was a woman's voice, talking of an appointment or something. Waka lazily rolled to his side, into the shadow of the girl to block the sunlight. Sunlight. The thought resonated for a little while. Where did I go to sleep that an open sky was above? Next, the ground beneath him became apparent. Still with his eyes closed, he placed the palm of his hand on the ground. It felt nothing like a bed, and instead like a dry, cracked earth. Finally, his eyelids lifted. Where the hell am I?

Waka sat up now, rubbing his eyes groggily. He glanced up at the sky, now realizing that there was in fact no sun, neither rising nor setting, although a midday-light was still apparent. Very strange. He next raised his hand to his face; something didn't feel right about him, and not the usual hangover. He wrote it off to him actually being sober; but, when a hand was placed over the flute at his side, absolutely no pull was felt from the object's soul. In fact, none was felt from the air, the dirt, anything.

Eventually Waka stood, his sandals giving him a towering figure over the girl who awoke him. He stretched his arms upward, temporarily increasing his height further. His arms slumped back to his side as he looked toward the girl and smiled politely. " Bonjour.. uh.. who are you? " He glanced about again, adding, " And where am I? "

Alice crossed her arms and slightly tilted her head while waiting for the man to fully awaken. he rose and stood much higher than herself. This was expected from a girl at a eight of 4 foot 5 inches.

Alice turned on her heels assuming they would soon be departing on an adventure. She looked over her shoulder to reply to the gentlemen. Alice. I am Alice. As for where we are or why we are here I do not know, so let's set out to find out, shall we?

Though her tone was as somber and toneless as ever, she was indeed excited. Alice loved adventures in a new land. This one holding more to it than most. She lost her senses and powers. Not only did it add challenge but it held out as a wondrous prize at the end of the road. Ready to move forward she waited on a response from her company.

Waka rubbed his eyes once more. The entire situation puzzled him. The apparent loss of his abilities was most confusing especially. He looked about him again, wholly taking in the area.

" I suppose so. " He eventually replied. His baffled state was not apparent in the even answer.

Before the pair began on their misadventure, Waka patted himself down for any sort of possession he might've had. Much to his disappointment, Waka found nothing but his flute and sidearm Kodachi; no liquor. Disappointment was evident on his face.

Waka looked up at Alice now, finally introducing himself. " Ah. How rude of myself. Please, call me Waka. " He gave a polite nod, the long, wing-like cloaks of his headdress flowing after. He then gestured forward, towards the structures ahead. " Lead the way, madame. "

(OOC) As we are now past the 4 posts we regain out spirit pressure and abilities~

Walking forward in this dim world, trees and grass were scarce, the whole area just seemed lost in transition. The only noise throughout was produced the steps of the two travelers. The soft crunch of foot steps on decaying and dry earth. Slowly, as they seemed to grow closer to something, what ever it was, their powers began to return. It was still unknown what took the abilities in the first place.

After what seemed like endless hours, they came to what was to believed to be the center, with increased smog in the air. Thunderous running, as if a stampede, crashed toward The two. A large decaying beast that was a blaze.

Nijyuu-Shoutai / Alice of Rose and Okami 58465-bigthumbnail

It roared out and Alice drew her blade, now singing once again with it's spirit. She took a defensive stance. Her eyes narrowed over to her partner in travels. Ready to dance? She said in a light hearted way.

(Decay beast states- Extreme defense, impervious to flames or aging. Highly effected by water and wind. Not too fast by any means. roughly the size of an elephant.)

Waka stared up at the sunless sky. The time the two had been walking droned on. With just occasional small talk, the journey had been mostly boring. Although, as the two walked along, his abilities slowly crept back. Waka didn't bother wondering why; he figured the question wouldn't be answered anytime soon.

Eventually, the two came to a thick smog of some sorts. Waka looked around himself with increasing anxiety, his field of view decreasing gradually. Next came the stampede. It started out ahead, at first barely noticeable. The ground began to tremor the closer the sound drew, and finally Waka realized the sound was not a stampede, but just a single, massive boar-like creature.

Waka's hand dropped to the flute at his side instinctively. A draw from the instrument's soul was felt now, but was still lacking its full power. A lump began to form in his throat. Without broadcasting his nerves, he spun the flute about in his fingers as he moved it up towards his mouth. He cleared his throat and let out a divine-sounding four notes, that seemed to transcend all other noise. The flute began to glow a brilliant gold, extending to a nearly seven foot-long Naginata (the shaft at 62 inches, the blade at 20).

Waka unwillingly smiled now, a new-found confidence exuding from him; thanks to the polearm. He rested it against his shoulder, turning his head to face Alice. " I wouldn't have it any other way. " He responded, in an equally light-hearted tone. Next, he turned to the bellowing beast, pointing the weapon in its direction. " Maginifique! Now you shall get an earful of my beloved blade! " He shouted to it, without expecting it to understand. Either way, he carried on - " Behold.. Pillow Talk! " He whirled the blade about his entire body, displaying his well-honed spearplay. " Let's rock, baby! "

Post by alice of the Rose Tue Mar 12, 2013 7:23 am

The beast came closer and closer, at the drool spilled from its mouth onto the ground it sizzled from the intense heat inside of the creature. Speed may not have been this thing's specialty, but it was Alice's.

Alice held her blade horizontally along her left arm with only her left hand. Her right arm dropped to avoid causing loss to her momentum as well as for necessary blocking later on. The blade and left arm were just below shoulder height. Alice shot off in shunpo causing a dust cloud to be left in her place. At this point there was only a 10 M distance between them and this beast.

Sliding along the thing's side, using her blade as a scalpel, the tough skin of the boar sounded like that made by coming into contact with rotting flesh. A sort of sick crackle.

The newly exposed rib cage emitted a horrid scent of decay and the creature seemed un phased by the attack, still moving forward toward the other challenger.

Alice looked over her shoulder, now planted back onto the ground with shock. The smell was nauseating and the attack seemed to have little effect. Alice's Zanpakuto was covered in burning hot clotted blood.

Waka allowed his companion to make the first move out of courtesy, but was prepared to assist her as well. He scratched his chin stubble as he observed Alice's attack on the beasts side. While it left a gaping hole and exposed internals, the attack didn't seem to faze it.

Waka took up a coiled serpent stance, focusing on precision more so than power. One slight misstep, and the possibility of impaling himself was likely. A flash of Bringer Light erupted from his feet, as he willed the ground's soul to propel him forward.

Waka flew midair for some 30 yards, somersaulting midair to gain momentum. His launch continued as he hit the sand, sliding on his back, underneath the great beast. He thrust the polearm up into the beasts belly, hoping its underside would be its soft spot. The spearhead punctured the beast, and a spray of rotting blood showered on him.

Waka emerged from beneath the beast, still sliding on the sand. He attempted to halt his drift by planting his feet, but instead, the long tooth of his right sandal caught itself beneath the sand. He tumbled forward, his spear gliding across the sand, out of his reach. He rose slowly once his roll came to an end. His clothes were spattered with the foul blood of the beast, his own blood running down his arms and face as well, sliced up from the deceptively rough sand.

Waka wiped the blood from his eyes, frantically searching for his weapon. The beast let out a thunderous roar once again, drawing Waka's attention away from his search. While the sand beneath the beast had been messy with blood, the beast seemed unaffected once again. If anything, the beast only seemed to grow furious. Waka frowned, then muttered, " F*ck. "

Alice moved swiftly to protect her brother in battle. As the creature roared, she shunpoed to it's left side, about 10 meters back from it. obviously slicing this thing up wasn't going to do them any good. A new plan would have to be considered.

Planning would have to come in a moment, for now she needed to get the creature away from Waka. raising both of her palms towards it's mid section, Alice commanded forth a Hado spell. 58.Tenran. A large and wide tornado shot forward pushing and slicing the creature.

With it's attention being elsewhere it was caught off guard, and was blasted back about 40 meters, and fell onto it's side. The powerful wind exposed more of the insides, including rotting flesh, clotted blood, and more flames.

The wind appeared to hush the flames a bit and the thing howled out in distaste. The fires seemed to be the key in destroying it. Alice looked over at her partner and nodded, to assure the new plan of attack. Eliminate the flames.

Nijyuu-Shoutai / Alice of Rose and Okami Empty Re: Nijyuu-Shoutai / Alice of Rose and Okami

Post by Okami Fri Mar 29, 2013 8:09 am

Waka utilized Alice's Hadō diversion to retrieve his flute, having reverted back from its Naginata form, due to leaving its wielder's hand. Waka scampered over to the wood instrument, still paying great mind to the beast before him all the same.

The Way of Destruction spell seemed to affect the beast much more than the two's other offensive options. Instead of roaring with great anger, it more so growled uncomfortably.

I see. While the beast was largely psychically defensive, its defense against other means of attack were inadequate. Waka smiled to himself softly. He had applied his knowledge of RPG mechanics to his first attack on the beast. He was at least glad that his method of approach wasn't completely wrong. How embarrassing.

Waka wiped more blood from his eyes, which met with Alice's shortly after. He smiled and nodded to her, knowing she understood its weakness as well.

Waka's posture became dignant. He then cleared his throat, and, in a radiant tone, shouted, " Hark! The Call Of The Heavens, The Earth, The Sea... They Summon Thee Forth! Amaterasu, Ma Chérie! " The wooden flute in Waka's hands rose to his lips once more. This time, the flute emitted a much longer melody, while still retaining the divinity of the first one.

Beams of light shone through the sunless sky, gathering before Waka. The light began to clot, and formed a great beast; by no means near the size of the other, but her presence was divinely exaggerated. The beast resembled a beautiful white wolf, tattooed along its elegant coat with crimson markings. The great wolf let out a awesome snarl, baring its shining white fangs.

Waka again smiled. Alice had created a much needed window to summon the Celestial Being. Without further delay, Waka ordered Amaterasu, " 2nd Tier Rosary - Ikutama (生玉 ; 'Life Beads'). " Six highly polished, tear shaped beads formed around the wolf's neck. Each was burnt orange in color, with a hole in the very center. Crimson rings surrounded each hole, each with their own intricate engraving. The beads circled the white wolf constantly, with very smooth and relaxed movement.

    Spoiler:

Note: The Life Beads have a very wispy, fire-like look, but I intend to have them be a wind-based weapon. This is mostly due to the fact that in Okami, the Life Beads are obtained in the Gale Shrine, obviously focused on wind. Also, it's the closest thing to a wind or water based weapon, which is what we needed. Just thought I'd point that out, to avoid confusion. (=

Post by alice of the Rose Fri Mar 29, 2013 9:13 pm

Alice looked over at the beautiful Okami Amaterasu and smiled. The mother of the earth had been summoned. The elegant white wolf looked ready for battle. Alice was excited to see what the mystical creature would do.

Alice stood ready in stance to preform another Hado spell in case her partner would require some back up.

A deep throated growl, presenting fury would escape the lips of the fallen enemy, as it climbed back onto it's feet. It lifted onto it's haunches and slammed back down onto all four limbs, creating a fissure to erupt across the landscape, headed for Amaterasu.

The ground rumbled as if a higher scales earthquake was about, and the break traveled forth at speeds of about 50 MPH. Nothing a Shinigami with a well trained shunpo couldn't avoid. The trouble being keeping footing while the quake was also in process.

Post by Okami Wed Apr 03, 2013 7:48 am

The rupture in the earth tore towards Amaterasu, and Waka behind her. Instinctively, Waka willed the ground’s soul to propel him, like before. The quake interrupted the soul’s wavelength, though, causing the high-speed movement to near fail. While it had brought Waka successfully away from the fissure, he was unable to land properly. Landing with only the left foot, his entire body weight and sizeable momentum fell upon it. Waka’s ankle breaking was surprisingly audible. He finally skidded to a stop after rolling head over heels for a few meters. Quite the contrary, Ammy merely leapt out of the path of danger, utilizing her tremendous canine agility.

Waka lay sprawled out on his back, the ground still trembling beneath him. His facial expression didn’t seem to reveal the ample pain that was felt from his broken ankle. Instead, he seemed only irritated at his lack of suave (which he was).

Again, contrary to what Waka was up to, Amaterasu leapt back into the fray immediately. When used, Ikutama whipped out in the form of a long chain, and let out a razor-like arc of wind. The gushes were carefully aimed towards the inferno, and, with each lash, the fire dwindled more and more.

The beast could not get out of the path of the on coming storm, nor would it's seemingly endless anger allow it to back down. The creature bounded forward after the sound of cracked bones and scent of fresh falling blood. The gust of air filled the core of the thing and silenced all the flames within it. Without so much as a peep, the extinguished flames made it fall onto it's side and the lights of it's eyes expired. It was dead.

The creature was defeated but that was not the end of things. Alice rushed to the side of Waka to see what help she could do in the injury he has received. She was not going to touch it without permission, but she could used her needles and some cloth to make a splint if needed.

Waka sat himself up to see how Amaterasu was faring against the beast. He was surprised at how quick the monster was to keel over and die. Good riddance. The stench of the beast's blood that spattered his clothing gave way to a strong hatred towards the thing.

Alice was at his side now, her expression questioning Waka's need for assistance. He leaned forward and tenderly removed his left sandal and sock. " I could use something to align the bone properly. " He frowned, then added, " And a drink. "

Amaterasu strode over to Waka's side as well. The wolf sat beside him, and, in another brilliant flash, transformed into a human. As elegant as ever, the human form of Ammy was clothed in a lavished white Kimono that bore a rising sun design, bound by a earthy green Obi. Crimson markings were painted along her alluring figure, identical to those tattooed on the white coat. Her expression displayed slight concern. She withdrew a small black flask tucked in her Obi, half-smiling as she handed it to her companion. " It's tequila. "

Waka nodded his thanks, downing the liquor in a hit. The pain somewhat numbed. He grabbed his foot and pulled it towards him, only wincing slightly. " Wrap it like this, please. " Ammy knelt in the sand now, preparing to assist Alice if necessary.

Alice watched as the beautiful wolf became human. Alice's attention dropped instantly back to the wound upon her battle buddy. She turned her forearm, exposing her needles and removed six from the holster. She promptly snapped the sharp edges off of each end. The next part was never pleasant for the patient, but something that had to be done. She would much rather do it quickly without warning and continue working. This way Waka wouldn't be thinking of the pain, which increases it.

Alice grabbed hold of Waka's shin and ankle, as fast as lightning she snapped the bone back into proper alignment. Without waiting to see his response she placed the dulled needles around the wound, and ripped some material off of Okami's sleeve without as much as a glance at her. The needles were wound with the material to be kept in place.

Alice then grabbed hold of the alcohol and poured some of it onto the entire bandage and wound. This was simply to stop any infection. After she put the alcohol back next to Waka, stood, and seemed calm and ready to move on.

Waka murmured in discomfort while Alice realigned his bone. He'd already realized what his injury would require, but was still a bit surprised by the sudden force she used. Of course, the tequila suppressed his feeling, and even though he didn't have a whole lot, it definitely made a huge difference. "Thank heavens for alcohol," he said aloud without realizing it.

Ammy was also surprised at Alice's assertiveness. However, she didn't care much; in fact, her respect for Alice seemed to grow. Spunk really resonated with her.

Waka watched with sorrow in his eyes as the last of his drink was used as an antiseptic. He stood along with Alice, laying all weight on his right foot. Although he balanced on his extravagant sandal with ease, Waka ultimately decided to not risk further injury, and removed the sandal. Now he stood at about 5'11".

"Merci. Many thanks," Waka said, along with a deep bow. Ammy smiled brightly, bowing her thanks as well. Waka observed his surroundings, searching for something to use as support. From past experiences, he knew the best way to heal any leg injury was to avoid putting pressure on it. With Ammy's assistance, he hopped over to the corpse of the great beast. After surveying it for quite some time, Waka finally pulled out one of the beast's exposed ribs.

A well controlled, searing hot flame sprung out from Amaterasu's palm, and severed the bone into thirds. Cutting one of the thirds in half, she welded one of the sixth with the leftover thirds. She welded the other sixth halfway down the elongated triangle, forming a makeshift crutch. Nodding his thanks, Waka tucked it snugly underneath his left armpit. He gimped over to Alice, mastering the art of crutch-walking quite fast. "Ladies first." He gestured at the desert that sprawled before them still. Their journey was not over.

Alice's eyes hazed as she continued down the gloomy path before there. Foot steps echoed against empty buildings and endless cracked pavement. The goal was unsure, and the feeling of being watched was constant. They walked until the dim sun sank to just a rim of vision beyond the path ahead. Alice stopped and looked over her shoulder.

I suppose we should make camp for the time being.
