After having your application approved, you can now join your desired division by visiting gotei 13's ranking and recruitment area.

Each division has an thread especially reserved for recruitment, but this doesn't mean you cant RP directly after pre-approval, it just means that your not an official member of any division just yet.
Division recruitment vary from one to the other, some captains require post count, some an instant spar, it depends on the division your joining and the ones in charge.
After acceptance, only then can you be a part of the said division.
